Heritage Fair 2014: Every Home Has A Story, Tell us Yours
Have you ever wondered about the history of your home? Experts in heritage and local history can help answer questions like “Who lived there?” and “Did your building have other uses?”

We also want to hear your stories! If you have anecdotes or information on your home’s history or architecture, we want to learn from you, the people who know best - the home owners!

Robert Shipley PhD.
Every Home Has a Story, Tell us Yours

Robert Shipley is an Associate Professor in the School of Planning at the University of Waterloo and the Chair of the Heritage Resources Centre and former Research Fellow at Oxford Brookes University in Oxford, England.  Professor Shipley is recognized as a leading international expert in the area of culture, heritage and tourism and particularly in the economics of heritage development.

Shipley will be discussing how our homes, neighbourhoods and landscapes create a city with a unique sense of place. He will also speak about a new province wide initiative, Building Stories, which enables people to share stories about historic landmarks and homes.  Let’s explore how heritage tells our story and enhances our lives!
